Our first calf arrived at 5.30am this morning - a heifer - Amelia of Ruston, born to Aimil of Hellifield. This being our first calf, David kept watch throughout the night to make sure everything went according to plan and was privileged to witness the whole event (all four and a half freezing hours of it!!).

Sunday 19th July 2009: Malton Show

Today we took one of our 2-year old heifers, Sheelah of Hellifield, to her first agricultural show. This also being our first show, we were naturally nervous but she did us very proud - winning first place in her maiden heifer class. She then went on to win Champion of British Native Pedigree Beef Breeds. This was a fabulous start to her showing career and we hope to continue in the same way in the years to come.
